Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a public issue, follow an argument or see how a story changes over time. Send proposals through the Contact page; please do not submit a finished article unless we have requested one.
What makes a strong pitch
Offer a focused question, explain why it matters to a general reader and show what your piece would clarify that a headline alone cannot. Tell us the likely form, the central examples or sources you would use and any uncertainty the piece must preserve. We favour precise, readable work over sweeping claims.
Contributions and review
We consider explanatory essays, comparisons and carefully framed background pieces that fit our coverage. A pitch should not depend on invented access, unsupported claims or professional advice. Include a brief account of your relevant experience, but do not assume that credentials alone determine suitability. We may edit accepted work for clarity, structure and accuracy.
