Editorial policy
Active Current Review aims to make public issues easier to follow through careful explanation, transparent judgement and corrections when needed. We distinguish reporting, interpretation and opinion, and do not present uncertainty as certainty.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, quotations and factual claims against appropriate sources before publication. We seek context that helps readers understand how a claim fits into a larger issue, and make clear when information is incomplete, disputed or changing. We do not claim that every question has a single settled answer.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not partners. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled as such and kept distinct from editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable treatment, and editorial coverage is not offered in exchange for support.
Corrections and illustrations
If a published piece contains an error, we review the matter and correct the text when warranted, with a clear note where the change affects meaning. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where relevant, they are identified, and they are not evidence for factual claims.
